Finally, XP on a M1330 with Video + Audio.
Well I got it all to work and here is how, first disable the ahci and enable ATA in bios, disable the flash that’s for Vista in the bios also. Set CD boot to #1 top spot and HD to #2 second spot, save and exit. Install XP like you would any other time. Install the Chipset Driver set from the Dell site ( R153997.EXE file ) and reboot. Now this is what nobody would tell me and the next thing is the video, this file cannot be the EXE file from Intel, the correct one is from Intel but it's a ZIP file since this one is expanded so that you have access to the .SYS and .INF files ( very important ). The file is the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* XP (zip) Multi language: win2k_xp14323.zip version:14.32.3
(http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=2529&DwnldID=15287&strOSs=45&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Home%20Edition&lang=eng )
Now you have the get into the Device manager and open up the video controller VGA Compatible item that is flagged, now double click and go to the driver tab, open and go to update driver, go to Display adapters and click Browse. Now Enter the directory where you unzipped the file you downloaded, and then enter the "Graphics" subdirectory.
For 32-bit OS, highlight the "igxp32.INF" file, Click on the "Open" button.
Click on the "OK" button. A window listing all of the
available display types should open. Select the display
adapter that your system contains and then click on the
"Next" button.
Click on the "Next" button. The operating system will
install the driver. Click on the "Finish" button when
done.
Click on the "Close" button. If a dialog asking to reboot
is displayed, click on the "Yes" button to automatically reboot.
Otherwise, manually restart the system.
The driver should now be loaded.
Now for the added fun, nobody wanted to let it know that the HD Audio driver was within this same batch. Go back to the unzipped video driver folder called win2k_xp14323 and open it up, in there you will see the HDMI folder and inside is the Intchdmi.inf file that is the key the HD Audio driver problem. Return to the device manager and double click the flagged HD Audio controller, click add driver tab and then click update driver.
