Finger Print Reader will not let me Disable
I hope someone can help me, i have a latitude e6400 with a fingerprint reader that cannot be disabled. I have originally got the computer and registered a fingerprint to try it out, and then since then i have reinstalled the OS, i even did a clean install. Now everytime i boot up, during the pre-boot authorization, it asks me for my fingerprint and i cannot disable it. I do not even have any fingerprints registered. In the dell control point, it shows that i still need to enable the fingerprint reader. Tried searching the BIOS, but did not see anything to be able to disable it, unless i am looking in the wrong location. Anyone can help me? this is frustrating.

Having the same issue. Have not been able to find a way to disable it. Have a system password set, but have to swipe the fingerprint reader and let it fail twice before I can type in the system password.

I eventually figured it out, since i was reloading a new OS, when i reloaded it, there was an option to disable it, not sure where it was as i did this about 6 months ago...it was in the system security settings in teh security option of the BIOS...if i can figure exactly what I did, i will respond again...sorry.
