Fingerprint reader HOT!!

Hi

I have a Studio 1737 and the fingerprint reader is not being detected and is very very hot. Hot enough to cause injury. My warranty is out and  I can't afford to have it looked at by a local dell dealer. Can anyone tell me how to physically disconnect the fingerprint reader? Thanks. I want to do this asap  as I'm afraid that it will burn out my motherboard.
