Fingerprint reader stopped working after Windows 10 update Vostro 14-5459

Hi Have seen several posts but no solutions. After a windows 10 update a couple of months ago, the fingerprint scanner stopped working. It recognises me but then says 'your credentials could not be confirmed'. Microsoft have sent endless messages blaming the driver, the scanner etc etc. Finally they say it is an issue with the update, but they have not solution at this time. Good old Microsoft and their helpful updates, which you cannot avoid. Anyone have the same problem and how did you fix it?? Thanks

Have you updated the BIOS after the Windows upgrade?

Remove all the finger print entries & reboot the computer.

Update the bios from this link http://dell.to/2tFZfDU followed by the finger print sensor driver here http://dell.to/2uSDfFV
