The Lithium-Ion battery in your Inspiron 9300 does not need to be fully drained. In fact, you should avoid fully draining the battery as much as possible. You should fully charge it when you receive the system.
You just got the machine? Not read the manual yet huh?
The battery supplied is only PARTLY CHARGED and should be fully charged before first use...BTW fully charging means just that...dont run the puter at all... just connect up to the mains with the battery in the bay and wait for a steady battery status light indicating the batt is fully charged...around 6-8 hours charging is normal...best leave on charge overnight.
