Font is not clear and not sharp
Hi,
I uninstalled XP home edition and installed XP professional. After the installation the font on the menu box (e.g when we right click on the desktop) and the bold fonts in XP word appear sort of dull and unclear, specially around the curves of each letter.
Any one any ideas?
Another small thing is what is the display monitor model number( i mean for downloading drivers for display there are 12-14 different types of models... ) of inspiron 500m??

For the fonts, right-click My Computer -> Advanced Tab -> Settings button in the Performance Box -> Under visual effects make sure "Smooth edges of screen fonts" is checked.
Hopefully that should help with that.
And we can't help with your display model unless you provide us with more information (UXGA, SXGA?......). I suggest downloading Aida32, it will give you all the information on your setup that you should ever need. Get it from www.aida32.hu.

hi,
Thanks for ur relpy, i just did that and most of the problems were solved except for one small thing, bold font in word is still the same. Does XP office have some kind of font settings like the one u mentioned??
Abt the driver for the monitor, i wont be neding it after all. Thanks mate
