Framework Initialization Error

Hi,

Just to let you know that this is a software issue related to .NET Framework.

Click ‘Run’ in the ‘File Download’ dialog box, and then follow the steps in the Fix it wizard. Restart your system and see if the issue has been fixed or not.

If the issue still persists, please let me know the operating system version installed on your system and I will give you some other troubleshooting steps accordingly.

Internet explorer will open for about 10 seconds. then a message comes up saying an error has occured and the program must close. I have Windows XP

Thank you for your prompt reply. Let’s reset Internet explorer back to its factory settings and then run the Microsoft Mix it. Below are the steps:

• Close all the Internet Windows.
• Open a new Internet window.
• Go to ‘Tools’< ‘Internet Options’<’Advanced’<’Reset’.
• Check the box to ‘Delete personal Data’ which will remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, Tracking Protection, and ActiveX Filtering data and press ‘Ok’.
• When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click ‘Close’, and then click ‘Close’ again.
• Close and then start a new window of Internet Explorer. 

Run Microsoft fix it mentioned in the above post. If the issue does not gets fixed, run Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool from the below steps:

• Click on ‘Download’ for ‘Microsoft .NET Repair Tool.exe’. Below is the screen shot:

• Click on ‘Run’ and follow the on screen instructions to repair .NET framework.

Also, please let me know when do you get this error message?

It is also recommended to run the scan on your system to make sure no viruses/spywares are affecting your system.

internet explorer will not stay on.

Since the Internet explorer is still not working, I would suggest you to take your system back to its factory settings. Below are the steps:

Note: All your data including your pictures, documents, music and all the applications installed on your system will be deleted.

• Restart your system. Press and hold “Ctrl” key on the keyboard and keep tapping “F11” key.
• The restore process normally takes from 6 to 10 minutes depending on how large the image is. Click on ‘Restore’ in the screen below to start a simulation of the restore operation.

• Click on ‘Confirm’.

• Click on “Finish”.

• Click on “Yes”.

• Read the “Dell End User Software License Agreement” and press any key to continue.

• Follow the on screen instructions to complete the factory restore.

Thank you for your patience and help. I have tried what you suggested, turn on computer, hold down ctrl key while tapping F11 key. Tried at least 10 times.It ends up on the windows/ sign in page. Is there another way?

I appreciate your efforts. I would suggest you to re install windows XP on your system. Below are the steps along with the screen shots:

Note: All your data including your pictures, documents, music and all the applications installed on your system will be deleted.

•    Remove all external peripherals from your system such as scanner, printer, modem or network cables, USB flash driver or other external Hard Drive etc.
•    Insert the Windows XP CD in your system.
•    Restart your system and keep tapping “F12” as soon as the Dell logo appears.
•    When the ‘Boot Menu’ appears, highlight the CD/DVD drive (listed as "CDROM", "CD/DVD" or "CD/DVD/CD-RW") entry from the list and press .
•    If the message ‘Press any key to boot from the CD...’ appears, press a key to continue booting to the CD.
•    In the windows XP setup screen, press to set up Windows XP.
•    In the ‘Windows XP Licensing Agreement’, read the license agreement, and then press to scroll through the agreement.

• Press to accept the terms and conditions specified in the license agreement. The partition screen is displayed depending on your computer configuration.
• Highlight all the partitions and press "D" to delete them.

Note: It will ask you to press 'D' and  a few other characters such as 'enter' or 'L' to delete the partitions.

• If you are prompted to format the partition, use the up or down arrow keys to highlight ‘Format the partition using the NTFS file system (Quick)’. Press .

• The setup will start formatting the files.

• After the above screen completes the formatting, setup will start copying files.

• Once the setup completes, your system will restart automatically.

• You will get “An exciting new look” screen.

• Click ‘Next’ on the ‘Regional and Language Options’ window.

• In the ‘Personalize Your Software’ screen, type your name in the ‘Name’ field and your organization's name in the ‘Organization’ field, if applicable, and click ‘Next’.

• In the ‘Computer Name’ screen, type the computer name in the ‘Computer Name’ field if you want to change it from the name provided and click 'Next'.

• In the ‘Date and Time Settings’ screen, verify that the correct date, time, and time zone appear, and click ‘Next’.

• In the ‘Networking Settings’ screen, click to select ‘Typical’, and click ‘Next.’ If available, click ‘Skip’ to skip the networking setup section.
• Setup will finalize the installation and should complete within 30 minutes of this point. Once complete, the computer will restart.

Note: If you see the message ‘Press any key to boot from the CD’ when the computer restarts, do not press any keys on the keyboard.

• After the computer reboots, the newly installed operating system will attempt to configure itself for your detected devices, however many of your device drivers are not yet installed. Use the following to finish the configuration and prepare the computer for driver installation:

1. If the ‘Display Settings’ message appears, click ‘OK’.
2. If a ‘Monitor Settings’ message appears, click ‘OK’.
3. In the ‘Welcome to Microsoft Windows’ window, click ‘Next’.
4. In the registration screen, click to select ‘No, not at this time’ and click ‘Next’. You will be prompted to register your computer again later.
5. In the ‘Do you want to set up Internet access now?’ window, click to select ‘No, not at this time’ and click ‘Next’.
6. In the ‘Who will use this computer?’ window, type the user name of your choice in the ‘Your name’ text box. Type the name of any additional ‘Users’ that will be using the computer in the additional text boxes provided.
7. Click ‘Next’ to continue.
8. Click ‘Finish’.

Let me know once this is done and I will give you the proper sequence to install the drivers on your system.

I am glad that the steps worked so far; I am providing the steps for the driver installation. If you have the "Drivers and Utilities disk", you can perform the following steps:
The picture shwows "Drivers and Utilities disk":

• Insert the disk in the DVD drive.
• An autorun wizard will popup on the screen prompting to continue installing Dell resource CD onto the computer. Continue with the installation.
• Another window will appear, looking like this:

• Press "Next" to continue.
• The resource page will appear next.

• On the left panel, select the "System Model" and "windows XP" under operating system.
• Select the "Topic" as "All".
• On the right side, a list of drivers will appear.
• The first item to install from that list would be "The Dell Notebook System Software".

• Press "Extract", press "continue".
• Press "OK" and follow the rest of the instructions to install the driver.

Note: The above screen shots are generic and may vary from one system to another. Also, Some devices may not work if they are not installed in the proper order. Please use the list below and install the drivers in the proper order.

• Simlilarly, install "Intel driver (Mobile Chipset) and "Ricoh Driver" under "Chipset".
• Once the chipset drivers and installed, "GeForce Go 7900 GTX" from "Video" category.
• Go to "Audio" and install "Sigmatel Driver".
• After this, go to "Network" category and install "Broadcom Driver".
• Under "Communication" category, install "Conexant Driver".
• Go to "Network" and install "Dell wireless 1500 WLAN Mini Card".

Note: If you do not see the "Dell wireless 1500 WLAN Mini Card", you may find other dell wireless driver such as "Dell wireless 1395" or "Dell wireless 1390". Please install either of the drivers.

• Under "Input", install "Synaptics Driver(Touchpad)".
• Install "Wireless 355 bluetooth module" driver from "Network" category.

If you do not have Dell Resource disk, download the following drivers on any other system and move it to your laptop using a flash driver and install them:

I think I messed up on driver install. I have an upgraded video card in my laptop. the video driver would not install driver, and  i continued with the other driver installs thinking i could install video driver later. Will i be able to do that. If not, what must i do? I have a Ge Force Go 7950 GTX video card. I apologize for all this trouble.

My wi-fi is not working. I can not connect to internet.  would that be something to do with a driver?the bluetooth light on my computer is on but the wifi light is off. I don't think it is searching for a connection.
