The infamous ground loop issue with the power supply mainly applied to older models. At some point Dell fixed it, and when it occured afterwards it was because of a faulty power supply. I am not at all sure, but your model might have come out after the fix, so if under warranty contact tech support about a replacement adapter.

Hi,
If you have a two-prong adapter then you should switch it for a 3-prong adapter and the problem will go away.
