HDMI issue with XPS 1530

hi there, just received my new Dell XPS 1530 and I'm very happy with it. However, I'm having issues with connecting the laptop to my 32" LCD TV via the HDMI cable. Every time i try, it comes up with the blue screen of death and crashes. Has anyone experience this issue and know how to outcome this? Cheers

I haven't had a problem.  On my 1530, I have the option of mirroring screens or going with one...I'm going to a Sharp Aquos 45"...once connected, you should be able to further define output through the Nvida control panel [rt click on desktop].  This should give you some options in terms of TV output. On the Aquos, I've gone through both hdmi and dvi via an hdmi converter...

Also works TV via hdmi through my denon amp...though no sound via the denon even though I've configured the sigma tel sound on the 1530 to go hdmi...

Try booting up with the TV connected and see if that helps...

Who Manufactures your TV?

Also what was running on your laptop before you connected it? Was a movie already playing?

Will try to simulate.

thanks for the reply. I have a Acer 32" LCD TV. I've noticed that the graphics card does not pick the TV as a display. I only had vista running when I connected it. It was straight out of the box. I'm thinking this might be a TV issue rather the laptop. Cheers Message Edited by toanaldino on 01-15-2008 12:23 AM

Tested on all the TVs I had here and couldn't get a blue screen this included a Samsung, Wharfdale and an LG.

Even if the TV is not working it shouldn't cause a blue screen? Try installing the latest Dell drivers for your graphics card and doing all windows updates.

I connected my 1530 to my LG HD TV via HDMI and I was able to mirror my display but could get no sound except for my internal speakers.  Does anyone know how to correct this so that The sound signal goes from the alptop to the TV?
