HDMI sound interrupts

For more than a year I've connected my dell 1525 laptop to my LG TV through HDMI and everything was Ok. A few days now I have sound interruptions when playing any kind of videos (avi, mpeg4, etc) I changed cable but no results, I changed HDMI port on TV, nothing . I've tried diferrent video players (vlc, nero,Windows mp), My system is Vista home. Is there any idea how to solve the problem?

Hi nikolisd,

I appreciate you have tried few steps to resolve the issue; please try installing the audio driver using the link below and check if the issue persists.

Unfortunately it fails to install stating "ExitError= missing device object. Restart and reinstall" but nothing happened and the same message appeared again.

But also it has deleted drivers for playing sounds through laptop speakers and headphones.

please try installing the audio driver

Hello Senthil. The HDMI audio is a function of the graphics driver, not the Sigmatel audio driver. See the HDMI Audio FAQ for details.

nikolisd:

If this is the first time you have tried to install the Sigmatel driver since the last time you installed Vista on your hard drive, you must first install the Dell System Software, restart, then the Intel Chipset software, restart. The Sigmatel will not install prior to those items. You can find them on the Inspiron 1525 downloads page. When you first get on that page select Vista in the dropdown menu. Every time you leave the page and return to it, re-select Vista.

No result, it messages that :"This is not the correct audio driver for the system." and asks exit.

Is any other more reliable solution?

Hi. The Sigmatel R218148 (6.10.0.5866) driver only works with an Inspiron 1525 with Vista 32 bit, after the Dell System Software and Intel Chipset software have been installed. Please double check and make sure your model is Inspiron 1525.

You could try using the Sigmatel R170217 (6.10.05614) which is also for an Inspiron 1525 with Vista 32 bit.

If that driver also fails to install then you might have failing audio hardware on the motherboard. Does you audio work okay when you play audio files? The only problem is with video?

When you open the Sound properties do you see the words "Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec"?

or do you see "High definition Audio Device"?

If you see "Sigmatel" on the tabs then you already have a Sigmatel driver installed.
