Has anyone solved the battery alarm problem.

I have an inspiron 1721 but this seems to be a problem with other systems.

I get no audible alarm when the battery is about to run out. Hence I constantly hibernates on me before I get the ac adaptor.

Please help!

Right click on the right desktop, left click properties, left click screen saver, left click power.

Click on alarms, check the boxes for both.

Low battery alarm, Action, set at 14%, sound alarm, display message

The for the Critical Battery Alarm, set at 10%, display message, when the alarm goes off hibernate, Force stanby or shutdown even if program stops responding.

Thius gives you about 5 minutes to get the adapter out. It not good to drain the battery below 10%

Hi,

thanks for the reply. I should have said I am running vista. I checked through the power properties and they are set to alarm. I have changed the percentages though.

I will wait but I expect it will still not work!

Please help!

If the alarm sound is not loud enough, you can go to control panel, sounds and audio devices, sounds, critical battery alarm.

Browse and change the sound to anything you want.

Thanks for the reply but i have tried that. There is no alarm sound at all. The sounds work for everything else.
