Try releasing flea power and then try running the Diagnostics. To release flea power  disconnect AC adapter, remove battery, disconnect all external peripherals(USB devices),press and hold down power button for 30 seconds.

Reconnect battery and AC adapter, press power button to turn on system and tap F12(as soon as you press power button start tapping F12)

If system is able to boot to F12 (Advanced boot menu)screen, select Diagnostics, press enter.

Post back error code/message if any.

Hi  ramiro.92,

Welcome to the Community,

Try running the onboard hardware diagnostics. To run the diagnostics shut down system, press and hold down Fn key, while holding it down turn on the system.

It should ideally start the PSA (Pre-Boot System assessment)  test  and then you can release Fn key.

Post back error code/message if any.

Thank You

Thanks for your reply Roshan, I've just done what you suggested but nothing happens, it just reboots again.

I think that should have worked. The problem might be my keyboard or the motherboard, I think... I'll try to turn on the system without the RAM cards, or maybe changing them to see if the BIOS detects the change of RAM cards.

Thank you very much Roshan, I didn't know that, and it worked! I released flea power and ran the Diagnostics. Apparently it was everything ok, the results didn't found any errors neither in the system nor in the memory, but I still wasn't able to boot my system. After that I was able to boot from the Windows Installation DVD; I had to format and install everything again. And now I'm writing to you from my repaired Dell!

I don't know what could have happened, it was pretty strange, this never happened to me before and I don't see that I repaired anything, but well... my Dell had always work wonderfully and so now. Thanks again.

All the best,

Ramiro

Thanks for your reply phil6697! I had left it to try it after another suggestion I received since I don't have a replacement drive, and what I tried before doing what you suggested worked well. Nevertheless, I thank you for your giving me a hand!

Have a nice weekend,

Ramiro
