Help Please!!!

Question

I have a dell inspiron notebook.  After the battery recall I took my battery out, and ran it on the power supply.  It began acting extremely odd, and would shut down every ten minutes.  Now it won't even turn on.  The power supply is on, but there are no lights on, on the laptop, and it won't turn on.  I have no idea what's wrong with it.  Can anyone give me an insight?  It's only a year old and it seems like it's dead.  I can't afford a new one, and I don't even know if it's fixable?

does it run with the battery in?

No it doesn't run with the battery in, without the battery just using the power supply, or just running on the power supply.  No lights flash showing that there's even power to the computer, but there's power to the supply cord, because the light is on.  I don't know what my options are?

The system board is faulty.
