Help with my new laptop !! / Is my hard drive failing??

Hello,

I just bought a new laptop it's model Inspiron 15z 5523

System specs i7-3357U 500 GB HDD + 32 SSD

I used AOMEI Partition Assistant to create another Partition from the only one "OS" partition 437 GB because I wanted to make the 1 Partition "2 Partitions" now the newly created partition is 300 GB

Now, the first problem I can hear little click sound coming from the back of the system, Is this a hard drive failure sound and happened after I did this HDD split using that AOMEI utility or is that just normal sound?

The second problem is that I can't check the temperature of the HDD using HD Tune tool.

I just see "Intel  Raid 0 Volume"  as below

And when I click on the red temperature mark, I get this error message

Can any one help me?

Thanks.

if test is ok, disk is ok.

:emotion-14: Hi,are you sure your steps are right?Maybe you ignore some steps. From the picture i can see that after partition, the  "OS" partition is  147 GB and the newly created partition is 300 GB,totally 447 GB.However, the only one "OS" partition is 437 GB,obviously it is unreasonable.

I think i can offer you some details of creating partition, for MBR disk, please check how many partitions there are already on hard drive? Because MBR disk only supports creating up to 4 primary partitions or 3 primary partitions and 1 extended partition which may include one or more logical drives. If the number of partitions reaches the upper limit, please visit how to convert to logical partition. For GPT disk, you can create partitions without limitation. Here is the details: http://www.disk-partition.com/help/create-partition.html

Don't use hdd tune for dell laptops. Because some parameters of disk hdd tune show bad. Use dell diagnostic program. or

Active SMART 2.9.4

Hello again,

I did Hard Drive Long Test through Dell Diagnostic and here are the results.

It didn't report any error or something.

However, what is this click sound anyway?

AmgedIsmail,

Restart the computer and press F12 at startup. Run the full Diagnostics. Report back any error codes.

I did the full diagnostics a week ago and that sound was there but it didn't report anything rather than "Test Passed" so I am wondering if this sound is normal.
