Help with newly received XPS 15. Mouse button single click = double/triple clicks

Hi,has anyone ever experienced the touchpad physical mouse buttons sometimes behaving strangely, and firing 2/3 presses instead of the expected 1 press? Its making it a nightmare to do even most basic mouse drag selections, or even single click selections, as sometimes these fire as unexpected program launches or de-selections!

I only recently took delivery of this laptop and was starting to enjoy it. I tried upgrading the Synaptics driver to the latest version, but that didn't help. As a test, I also tried reversing the left/right mouse button from the Mouse control panel, but it exhibited the same problem when RMB was used as LMB. Haven't tried plugging in a USB mouse, but I expect this will be ok.

Would be grateful for any advice, thanks!

I also have the same issue, but i also have issues where the touchpad buttons just don't even work on occasion.  I'm starting to think its faulty buttons or just a faulty item.

Hi, just to let you know, I had to contact Dell to arrange for the touchpad unit to be replaced by an engineer. It was done under the existing warranty of the laptop, and they were pretty efficient about it. You should get in touch with them about it, as I can assure you, it will slowly drive you crazy! =)
