How can I get an external monitor to work with my Dell Latitude D620 Laptop.
Have tried to connect to external Monitor by holding Fn & F8 however, no connection happens. My OS is XP Pro. Check my laptop monitor properties to see if I could add additional monitor. This did not offer the opportunity for exterior monitor. I have an Acer laptop I do this with and that just happens when I plug the external monitor in. Why is the Dell Latitude D620 not seeing the external monitor and how do make it see it? I"m sure it is a simple fix that eludes me.

Did you try plugging it in when it was turned off.
Then boot it up and try FN F8

Do you have Dell Quickset installed form the drivers and downloads page?

Yes indeed that was applied without results. Any other ideas come to mind. The monitor works fine with Acer. It must be a setting on the Dell that I'm not aware of yet.
