How do I disable audio auto-switching on a XPS 13?

Hi,

We have a XPS 13 laptop here which is used in combination with a D3100 docking station. As soon as the laptop is plugged into the docking station, Windows switches over to using the audio port on the docking station.

How do I disable this? The user prefers to use the audio port on the laptop at all times, whether connected to the docking or not.

(laptop is running Windows 10)

Hello.Sorry that you did not receive a timely reply. I just don't know the answer.

This morning I ran some tests with my Latitude E5420 laptop. If headphones are plugged into the laptop's jack, the audio plays through the jack whether or not the laptop is docked, regardless of whether there is a plug inserted into the dock's headphone jack. I have to remove the plug from the laptop's jack in order for audio to be diverted to the dock jack.

Obviously there are a lot of differences between my laptop and the XPS 13. Besides different docks, the XPS has Realtek audio and mine has IDT. I can't think of where there might be a setting to change the order of the audio routing.
