How to Remove Ubuntu and Install Windows 8.1 on Inspiron 3138

Hi everyone,

I just recently bought Dell inspiron 11 (3138) that comes pre-installed with Ubuntu.

Can anyone be so kind as to guide me through how to remove Ubuntu with Windows 8.1.

I understand the BIOS in this machine is legacy-free as the only option to boot is either from hard drive or trough LAN.

I have tried to plugged in a window usb drive created by rufus but without success, your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The problem is the Windows Media Creation Tool doesn't work on Linux therefore install Windows 10 Insider, follow the instructions here to make a UEFI with SecureBoot compatible FAT32 Bootable USB with Rufus in the GPT:

Thank you for your help Phillip.

I carefully traced the guidance on creating usb boot drive and redo the process. I am then able to make the usb boot drive detected by the BIOS.

I have now successfully removed Ubuntu and installed window on my 3138.
