How to enable Hyper V?! Losing my mind

Hi everyone,

I bought my Dell inspiron 3521 specifically in order to develop apps for the Windows phone 8.

Problem is, whenever I run the emulator I get a message that I need to enable Hyper V, AKA hyper visor.

I've tried many things, and couldn't possible understand how to enable it. I found this article:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/jj863509(v=vs.105).aspx

That tells me that in order to enable the Hyper v, I first need to disable and enable various features through BIOS mode. I tried it, entered BIOS mode, but couldn't find those features, they weren't visible.

Needless to say I'm pretty pissed about the situation lol, and I would definitely appreciate the help, so anything you might know is gold to me.

Please reply and help me start my experience with Dell on the right foot...

Dvir

First things first - what version of Windows 8 do you have?   Only 64-bit 8 Pro and up support Hyper-V.  The standard edition of Windows 8 does not.

Next, which CPU do you have?

This is still a relatively high-end server-oriented technology and your notebook is a very low-end consumer-grade model.   You may well find that the hardware you bought won't support what you need it to do.
