Hi Friends,
I have a DELL inspiron 15 (N5010) laptop. Few days back I set BIOS password. Unexpectedly I forgot the password. While going to BIOS, my laptop is asking for password. I tried many times but unable to enter correct password. Can any one please tell me how to proceed further for resetting the password?
Thanks in advance...

It's always handy to include the version of Windows that's being used.
See if the following can help:

Hi there,
While changing some options in my BIOS (Studio XPS 1645) I noticed that the User Password is showing as [Locked]
I bought the laptop from a Dell Refurbisher about 3 years ago, and have only just noticed the user password being locked!
There is no supervisor password set, so I am able to make the changes I require, but was just wondering if I can reset the user password as I have supervisor access?
Cheers,
Esky.
No one here can help - you need to place a call to Dell support.

Thanx a lot!
Hello.
I just purchased a used Dell XPS 12 Convertible. Unfortunately It has a BIOS password.
What can I do to remove this? I'd rather not pay $60, or replace the motherboard...
Thanks.
