You may uninstall and re-install the 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology' application from control panel and see if it works.
To uninstall open 'Programs and Features' by clicking the Start button -- > Control Panel -- > Programs -- > Programs and Features --> Select a program then click Uninstall.
I was getting this same error on a 2014 model Inspiron 15 with Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
First. how important is this program? Can I simply uninstall it and remove the error?
I followed the instructions you provided above which sounded like a working solution. I uninstalled the App, downloaded the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver that came up under the Service Tag for this laptop & Installed the driver.
After all that, the same error is still appearing.
