I had problems with the "E" Key on my Inspiron 9300. Fortunately, it fixed itself after I turned it on for several hours. I'm not even sure what happened.
Anyways, a better fix for you would be to contact dell support (via email is satisfyingly quick) at support@dell.com and tell them that your keyboard is non-responsive. If you are still under warranty, they will send you your replacement keyboard for free, but I think you have to send your defective one back.
I have already ordered mine when the keyboard decided to fix itself. :P
