Inspiron 1000
I installed SP2 on my daughters laptop so I can install Kapertsky Ant Virus softeware.
Does SP2 have any negatives for this laptop.
Dell's web site recomended SP2 as a update.
Is ther anyway to help increase the speed of this laptop.

If XP, you really should be running Service Pack 3 now, not 2.
You can add RAM - that's about the only speed-up for this system.

SP3 will come down by windows update.

Would the automatic updates change from SP2 to SP3, or do you need to dowdload this.
Wherre the best place to get the SP3.
