Inspiron 15 3551 memory upgrade
Is it true that the 3551's memory cannot be upgraded past 4gb? Very disappointing for an already painfully underpowered machine. And yes, I know it was cheap but I at least expected to be able to up the memory to 8gb.

It likely saved a few cents in design for the mainboard, needing fewer memory address traces -- and on models in this position in the market, where price is paramount, every small economy matters.
For the same reason, you're likely to find more painted metal in the inside of a Versa or Rio than a Camry or Legacy -- at the economy end of the market, even a few cents or dollars saved translates in to a lower price.

can u just tell me whether it supports the 8gb low voltage rams available, coz i need to upgrade the *** ram.
