Inspiron 1501 Purchase

Question

Im looking at buying a new laptop to replace an old laptop that I seam to keep sinking money into it to fix.  Im ready to pull the trigger except i dont know what processor to choose.  Can any of ya tell me how many Ghz each of these processors will have me running at   Mobile AMD Sempron 3600+ AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-55 AMD Turion 64 x2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-58

' Option D: Intel Core 2 Duo '   This is not an option on the Inspiron 1501 Notebook.   AMD Turion TL58 - 31 Watts Thermal - 1.9 Ghz Frequency - 2 x 512 L2 cache.    AMD Athlon TK-55 - Athlon 1.8Ghz, dedicated 512K L2 cache.   I would stay away from the Semperon 3600+ due to heat.   pcgeek11

I was just hoping for anything not AMD - they seem behind the times at the moment.

In actuality AMD processors are just fine. In my personal perception the AMD processors are cheaper and run better than most of the Intel processors. IMO AMD gets more bang for the buck.   pcgeek11

Every AMD processor out is traipsed by its comparable Intel chip in power consumption and work per clock.
