Inspiron 1525 LCD replacement
I'm working on a Dell Inspiron 1525 WXGA screen replacement.
I got the new screen and put it in (what a PAIN!!!!)
Now the new screen backlight comes on, but there's never any video. I did get video once out of it, so I know the LCD panel should work, but I can't get anything now. If I disconnect the LCD signal cable the screen goes all white. If I disconnect the inverter cable the backlight shuts off.
I'm thinking I need a new cable, which the part number is 4W001 »www.machinaelectronics.com/store···W001.101
The old cracked Samsung screen is 15.4" WXGA dell part RP636 which I got off the dell invoice from putting the service tag into dell's support site.
The only difference is the bracket for the inverter at the bottom was non-existent on the new screen, so I had to pry off the bracket from the old screen and hammer it out since I bent it in the process. But everything plugs in and fits good and tight. Only reason why I think it *might* be the cable is because it was taped onto the old LCD, and maybe prying the tape off damaged the wires inside the cable.
Any idea's?

Well I went and ordered a new LCD cable (part 50.4W001.101) so I can try that. Hopefully that fixes it. What a money pit...
$120 for the screen, now a $20 cable.
Thing is I'm pretty sure the new LCD works, because I did have video on it (nice vista login screen), but it went off. Backlight remains on and flashes when using the FN+F8 to turn the LCD on and off. External monitor works fine. I could use some encouragement or reassuring words though!

I had a similar problem when I replaced the LCD Screen on my Gateway. Microcenter charged me $60.00 to check the screen connection to the motherboard.
