Inspiron 1545 battery issues!
I have never had problems with my battery until recently. Everytime I would unplug my power chord I would get an error message that it is not recognized when I plugged it back in. After doing this for a while it stopped charging the battery. I replaced the AC adapter and still experienced the same problem. Then, I replaced the battery. I still have the same problem! My laptop is fine when plugged in but I can't unplug it without losing battery power that I can't regain. This is frustrating! Can anybody help?

Hi RJVski,
Welcome to the Community. Did you replace it with an Original Dell ac adapter and battery? Press the F2 key at the Dell logo on startup, Under General move down to battery, and check if the Battery and the Ac adapter is getting detected, if its says not installed or unknown then you may have to replace the motherboard.
Thank you

Thanks for your response. The replacement power chord that "is not recognized" is a Dell product. I did what you suggested and the battery is detected just fine. The AC adapter is "unknown". This is frustrating because it works normally other than the fact that the battery doesn't charge. What could the problem be?
