Inspiron 1545 cd drive not working error 0147
Hi
My laptop is atleast 2 years old and all of a sudden my cd drive stopped detecting any cd. After much search in the net i found that Dell has the diagnostic tests
I ran it
1. with a data disk in the drive
It threw the error 0147 code 2000-0147
2. without any cd/dvd in the drive
It passed the test without errors
Please tell me which of the above is the right way to run the Diagnostic tests
Also please tell me what course of action I should take to fix - if any error
No Events found!

Diagnostics test should be run with a data disc in the drive such as Windows, Office, etc.
You need a new CD/DVD drive which you can buy cheaply on eBay.
