Inspiron 17 3737 CMOS Battery replacement?
Owners manual referenced by my service tag is inaccurate. Removing base cover exposes a glimpse of the CMOS battery, but there is no way to access it to remove it. Help!

Knowing your laptop model would help us (guide you) with the breakdown.

I forgot it was in your title.
It's on page 27 of your owners manual

You will need to remove at least the keyboard and possibly the track pad and other subsystems. They don't make it easy!!!

It will have to be the whole top cover - the battery is nowhere near the keyboard. The most irritating thing is that the manual is totally wrong... grrrr!

Yes, you need to remove the top cover and sometimes the display panel, followed by the keyboard. Depending on the model, more may need to be removed in order to get to the battery on the system board. If the manual is wrong, perhaps you have the wrong manual.
