The Software and Peripherals department can sell components from other vendors.
While Dell does not support these items outside of the first 30 days of ownership, this site can help guide you more effectively on a peripheral purchase than another retail vendor could.
Choose your business segment.
Click on Parts for Your Dell.
Pick your system type and model or enter your service tag for suggested products for your Dell computer.
They also have hard drive, memory and peripheral upgrade options.
If you cannot find what you are looking for by the search engine, you can contact our Spare Parts department.
Thanks for the response. However, my questions were not really answered... First, I have already attempted to call about this issue. It is very difficult or impossible to get someone on the phone who has the slightest clue about batteries. Also, the broken english of one person I spoke to made it almost impossible to even communicate. Also, if I go to the website it only lists two batteries. When I called, I was given a recommendation for a battery that was not listed on the website. Furthermore, when I searched the website it did not exist that way either. I have bought almost 60 computers in the last two years and can not get a straight answer on the following questions (copied from my last post):
So, I would like to know what batteries are available to purchase for the Inspiron 4000 (list my options)
What is the expected performance of each?
What is the best battery (longest lasting) available for the Inspiron 4000?
We are at the point where Dell will be losing a customer if my questions from my posts are sidestepped...
