Inspiron 5100 Lan Not Working

Lan quit working.  Uninstalled Trend Micro Internet Security and stopped service on windows firewall.  Get message that no cable connected.  No lights on back.  Connecting directly to router to assign ip address.  Tested with other machine and router is working.  Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

The first thing I would do is replace the cable. Check the BIOS and see if your network card is enabled.
