Inspiron 5520 i7 - Max memory support

Hello, i ordered the inspiron 5520 from dell supplier in my country, and they said that the laptop support for up to 16GB of RAM, and that is one of the main reasons i bought this computer, now i see on the web that it dosn't support it, i'm already getting the computer with 8GB as stock, so i wanted to upgrade the memory in the future, how come that dell official seller can miss correct costumers like that?

i've been uploaded a picture of the specs from the shop, i hope you can make some order here, thanks, adi.

Well, again. After several times boot up, it's much slower now. Suggest you don't upgrade untill there is a solution. Dell technician said 16G is fine, I'm waiting for the suggestion from Corsair.

Yes, the 16G Ram works on the laptop. But strangely make the 5520 runs a little bit slower. The original 8G RAM can get 7.9 at the windows experience index, my 16G Corsair only got 7.6. If you are using HDD as yor main drive, perhaps no matter. If you are using SSD as the main drive, you will see a little slow. BTW, make sure you but the PC3-12800 RAM. Hylix may be better.

You are right. Maybe there will e a BIOS update in the future. I got response from Corsair said the 5520 not support 16G. I pulled the 8G original RAM and plug the new 16G, it's slow. Pull out one 8G RAM, keep anothe 8G RAM in the memery slot, runs perfct. So no problem with the new RAM, the problem is on the computer.

BTW, the 16G RAM now works perfect on my iMac.

My solution is upgrade the BIOS from A07 to A11, it works. If your BIOS is already A11, you will need help from Corsair or Dell.
