Inspiron 5537 won't go to sleep
I have a Dell Inspiron 15R that has all the latest drivers from Dell Support. Everytime I close the laptop for it to go to sleep, it won't go to sleep or hibernation. I close the lid, the power light stays on and when I reopen the lid, it's just a black screen and the only way to reopen my PC is to do a hard shutdown. Please help me Dell or anyone, it's becomming completely unsuable and I've only owned Dell Laptops...

willithepooh,
You do not mention the OS that is installed on your computer. Below is information if you upgraded to windows 10.
On the Desktop, right-click on This PC and select Properties
- On the left, choose Device Manager
- Click the arrow next to Display Adaptors to expand that category
- Right-click on the Graphics Card and select Update Driver Software...
- Choose the option to Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software
- Your computer should find and automatically install the updated driver
- After the installation is complete, restart your computer.
For Windows 7 try the steps below.
