Inspiron 6000 keyboard issues

I have been having problems with my cursor jumping to other places as I am typing.   I know very little about computers....so if there is anyone out there that can tell me what is up with it and what to do in simple terms I would greatly appreciate it. :smileysad:

In your mouse setup, there should be a tab that has "PalmCheck" or something similar.  The palmcheck should be checked and then adjust it accordingly moving more towards the Maximum setting.

Here is the alps touchpad.  Don't worry about the arrows that I used.  This was for something else.
 
But you can see where the PalmCheck is and how I have mine set.
