Inspiron 600M memory types

Hi
 
Can someone give me a definitive answer regarding what memory types can the Inspiron 600M handle?
 
I have PC2100 (266hz) SD RAM in my 600M but I have been told that I could use the PC2700 RAM (300Hz) in my machine also.
 
Someone has told me that I shouldn't use the PC2700 RAM becuase it wont work with my machine.
 
Any help will be appreicated

you could use PC2700 ddr in 600m, but it will be down-clocked to PC2100.
 
in fact my 600m shipped with PC2700 memories, but it will only run at
266mhz (not 333mhz), as shown in bios setting.

Suggest you go to the Crucial web site, use their memory configurator and you'll be guaranteed to purchase RAM which is fully compatible with your laptop and it will have a lifetime guarantee.
