Inspiron 6400 Harddrive location & replacement with SSD HD ??

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop & would like to replace the HD with a SSD HD.  How do I remove the old HD, etc. & replace with the SSD HD??

Service manual:

Two issues:

1.  The system uses a SATA bridge so it's limited to 150G/sec (aka SATA 1).  You won't see the full performance boost from a SATA 2 or 3 drive.

2.  If the system is running XP, be sure your SSD comes with a TRIM utility.  XP does not support TRIM and will thrash an SSD to death in short order.  You don't need the utility for Vista, 7 or 8 -- but you do for XP, and not all drive makers provide a TRIM utility.  Verify before buying.
