Inspiron 7548 and Windows 10 - - - lots of trouble
I bought a new 7548 from Best Buy, took it home and turned it on. I followed the setup instructions to the letter and was offered the free upgrade to Windows 10. I followed the steps and installed the upgrade. I had problems with video and it ran really slow. I went into Task Manager and monitored the resources. At times the disk was 95% busy and I wasn't doing anything.
Keep in mind this is a brand new out of the box laptop.
I Googled for information and discovered that there were a lot of people with issues upgrading to Win 10 with this laptop. I am so sorry that I didn't Google it before installing.
After 4 weeks of poor performance and band-aid fixes, I wiped the disk and did a factory restore. I am extremely pleased with the performance of this laptop with Win 8. Don't know why they ever said it was compatible with Win 10 - - - - .
I post this just as information for potential users looking to upgrade to Win 10. I would be very cautious about proceeding in that direction. I am not looking for fixes and am very happy with Win 8
