Inspiron 9300 Weird power button issue?

So heres the issue im having.

Laptop wont turn on with the power button, If I remove the battery and plug it in it will turn on. After it turns on I can press and hold the power button and it will turn off.

If I turn it on by pulling the battery it works perfectly without issue. Any ideas? Button it working as it will turn the machine off.

Im actually working on this for a customer and have many dell cords. Both PA-10s I have and use without problem on other laptops along with a brand new PA-12 I have to sell do the same. Bios detects adapters properly and charges battery in the bios along with windows.

Hi radzer0,

Please check if the status of the Ac adapter in the BIOS. To go to BIOS restart the system and at Dell logo tap the F2 key every two seconds. Navigate to Battery Info and check what is listed for Ac Adapter type and reply to this post for further assistance.

Hi radzer0,

You have tried almost all the troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. You may try one last step that is check with a known good battery which is compatible to this system. If the issue persists, I suspect the motherboard is failing. You may consider replacing it.

I forgot to come in and mention this but I found out the issue. The buttons on the front of the machine where you can play music with it closed, they had an issue so I replaced the whole touchpad cover (wasnt the button board but actually the plastic buttons)

Hopefully this helps someone else down the road.
