Inspiron battery Model U4873
I bought ten Inspiron 6000s last year and upgraded each to the 80 WHr 9-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery. After only four months, 40% of the batteries had become defective.
Since it was outside the warranty, Dell would not do anything other than offer to sell us $600 worth of new batteries.
Because their Customer Service stinks, their Owner's Manuals had no warnings about what might cause a battery to go defective, and because this is now the third time I've tried posting a message to this forum.... I will never again buy from Dell.

That doesn't sound like a solid business decision.
