I have experienced an identical problem. Laptop Inspiron mini 910 now only has email and internet facility, no more space for MS programs or any other whilst some 8GB HD.
Have you been successful in replacing the solid state Hard disk and did you have to transfer data? I am not so experienced and seek advice what to do.
To get any use from this machine I will need to buy an external disc drive, make a back up and burn to all OS, considering a 2gb ram and a 32gb SDD or a 2 gb ram and a 32gb SDHC.

What you're asking for is not a memory upgrade but a larger solid state drive. These do exist but will be expensive.
There are 16, 32, 64, etc. G upgrades - the 16 is about $60:

Hi - I'm still undecided what to do.
To get any use from this machine I will need to buy an external disc drive, make a back up and burn to all OS, considering a 2gb ram and a 32gb SDD or a 2 gb ram and a 32gb SDHC.
I don't know if it's worth it.
