Intel R WIDI and Catalyst Control Not Working
I have Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520 new from first day when I have installed Widi application there is a problem ,any update in display drivers causes a crash in one of the subject applications.
There are updates available from Intel ,AMD and even from Microsoft for display drivers but I can not install any update. I checked other forums nearly every dell user with this laptop in windows 8 have same problem.
Platform = Windows 8
AMD Radeon HD 7730M Driver version 8.982.6.0 Date: 2012-8-01 provider AMD
HD Graphics 4000 Driver version 8.982.6.0 Date: 2012-8-01 provider AMD
Intel (R) centrino (R) wireless N2230 version 15.8.0.5 Dated 2013-4-25 provider Intel.
Intel WIDI Application version 3.5.41.0
Catalyst Control no working ,with a message " There are currently no setting......."
Its my third Dell laptop ,this time I was hoping that I am buying a high end piece but I am feeling sorry for my self now .

Hi Novice_dell,
I am sorry for the inconvenience. Required drivers are updated in the support website. Inspiron 7520 works on switchable graphics technology. Intel and AMD cards work in sync depending on the type of application you are running. Simple application runs using Intel graphics card, where as intense processes are done by AMD graphics. Hence updating the driver from the manufacturer website may not help.
I recommend you to uninstall Intel, AMD video and wireless drivers from the Device Manager. Video drivers are listed under Display Adapters and Wireless driver is listed under Network Adapters. Delete AMD and Catalyst Control Center folder from Programs and Features.
Restart the system and update the drivers from the link below:

Click on the link above, enter the system service tag and click Submit, Select the Operating system from the drop down list to get the drivers. Install Intel graphics driver first, restart the system and then install AMD driver.
Reply for further assistance.

Hi Novice_dell,
Windows update is Operating system specific and it will not make any changes to the hardware components and its drivers. You may go through the following link with regards to the Windows update and change the setting if you wish to.
