Intergrated Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced MB Installation Issue

Hi guys,

I have a problem installing the creative sound solution. When I bought Studio 1555 with Windows Vista OS I had also ordered this sound solution. It worked fine on it. But when Windows 7 was launched and dell had an offer for upgrading the OS to windows 7. So I ordered my Win 7 copy and installed it with the drivers provided with it. Now the problem is that the creative sound solution is not working on windows 7. Also they provided me all Windows 7 drivers which also included this creative solution but it also doesn't work. All money went it waste. So please help me. Please suggest me a solution.

Here are a couple of other suggestions that had been posted that I had in my notes:

By swagatsourav

i had CREATIVE Sound Blaster(R) X-Fi MB Audio Software Solution for windows vista 32
this software is unable to recognize the sound card in windows 7 64 bit

MY Model is Studio XPS 1340 and its very much listed. it was working perfectly fine with Windows Vista 32 Bit. i upgraded my system to windows 7 64 Bit.
i am using the current sound drivers provided by dell.. then i used the patch provided by dell for windows vista 64 and 32.
X-Fi Software gets installed. but when i open it it says "No sound driver found'

i am having the CD from day 1 itself... and the install process u guys are saying me is all done...
my installation is sucessfull..but when i start the creative console launcher , there i get the mentioned error message.
one more thing. the patch which was released by dell was for this error message only on vista for IDT sound drivers.

had finally made the stuff to work.
i will tell u the exact process.
on windows 7 64 bit. the program files location for 64 bit apps and 32 bit apps is different.
C:\Program Files (x86)----------- for 32 bit
C:\Program Files -------------- for 64 bit
Now if u install the creative x-fi , it gets installed in 32 bit folder and the path tries to search the file in normal C:\Program Files folder.
i forced the apps to install in 64 bit folder and then applied the path and it WORKED PERFECTLY FINE.

You say you are using the PATCH? Is that the one from the Drivers and Download page? If you answer yes then I know the problem. That is only a patch and not the full program. You should have a CD labeled Creative Soundblaster X-Fi MB that you need to install from, then once that is installed you can install the patch. So the correct order to get your sound done is:

1) Install sound driver,  2) Install Soundblaster from CD in Vista compatability mode,  3) Install the patch.

If you do not have the CD then you need to call Dell and have then send it to you. I had a heck of a time getting it sent to me for my 1555, I had to have the rep remote into my laptop to see what I was even talking about since the invoice does not say Soundblaster X-Fi, instead it shows this software as:
P684M     Module, Software, Creative PANZER, 1.0, Factory Install, It took me 1.5 hours on the phone before he would finally send it to me and when I got it the next day that invoice also showed it the same way but the CD was in fact the X-Fi MB software with the key. And yes you have to have the key or it will not work.
1) Install sound driver, 2) Install Soundblaster from CD in Vista compatability mode, 3) Install the patch.

There have been a lot of posts about it not working on 7. One poster left a link to The Sound Blaster forum to this article:

SB Audigy ADVANCED MB - Windows 7 Compatibility Update

I don't know if this works for 7x64 or only 7x32. The Creative software only worked on Vista x32 as far as I know and perhaps was never intended for x64 bit.

As you probably know you have to install your IDT HD audio drivers before installing the Creative software.
