Hello and good evening

Right click on the internet icon in the system tray and go to "Network and Sharing Center."

It sounds as if you are only connected to the "Intranet" note in tra net and not the "Internet."

If this is the case then unplug your external Router for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

There should be 5 green lights if the Router is working properly:

Power

Ethernet

Wireless (if you have a wireless device) such as a Smart Phone.

Broadband

Finally Service

These should be lit.

If they are all lit then call your ISP for technical support.

Perhaps, only perhaps, Your router was not recognized as in my case I use AT&T and my identification is ATT 925

Once recognized you have to enter the Password which is on the side of the router; the Wi Fi Password.
