Issues With Cursor and Touchpad on Inspiron N5050

I have aproblem with the cursor on my laptop.When I type the cursor jumps to some where on the page and I have to delete and redo. I've contacted Dell and they updated the driver but the problem still exist. I've tried virus scans with no results.it is very frustrating ..looking for some help

Hi acalhoun10,

I would suggest you to disable the touchpad while typing to check if it an issue caused by you accidentally touching the touchpad.

To disable the touchpad press Fn + F3.

Please keep me posted with the results.

I attempted to disable the touchpad many,many  times by pressing Fn+F3 but this does not disable the touchpad

Please update the Dell QuickSet driver using the link mentioned below:

Once the driver is installed , try to disable the touchpad by pressing Fn + F3.

I cannot believe it ..again. after not using my laptop for a week ,tonight i treid ti type an e mail and the cursor jumped, than again and again and I cannot disable the touchpad by pressing fn+f3..what do i need to do to get this corrected?

Restart the computer and try to disable the touchpad by pressing Fn + F3.

In case it does not help, please download and update the touchpad driver from the link mentioned below:

Restart the computer.
