Key Bounce Problem on Inspiron 17R (N7110) Touchpad Buttons

I've been dancing with the Dell Tech Support chat guys in India on this for a day - no clue! In desperation I started poking around the Dell support site and found this blog and found a couple of posts regarding this issue in the keyboard on other versions of the Inspiron. I agree that this is a mechanical bounce issue and has its roots in the hardware, i.e. they need to use better quality keyboard contact materials like gold or palladium. Tinkering with the driver was my first impulse and then I read the other posts and see that this is a pit. Having been there many times in a past life as a hardware/firmware/software product developer, I know that there is no 'happy ending' here, only compromise and pain. Given the tough sledding I've already encountered with support, I'm seriously considering tampering with the keyboard driver code. What I don't want to do is compromise the - so far- good keyboard speed and no observed bounce on the regular keys. The problem on this machine is strictly with the touchpad buttons - you get to move two or more frames on a slide show with one click - a feature, no doubt. I'm running W7 Home Premium. To save time it would be cool if someone on this thread has information on where I can get at the driver code at a higher level than reading hex and any clues on where to poke.

Hi everyone, I had the same problem my touchpad wasn't working at all, not event the buttons, but I disassemble my laptop and I found that the connection with the motherboard and the touchpad wasn't ok, so I disconnect the cable and put back and it started working again, it;s just weird because it seems that the laptop came with that cable not connected as it should.
