Key come off and scissor hinge broken?

The "m" key has come off the keyboard of my Inspiron 2500. I know there's an easy fix in the FAQ; however, the two parts of the scissor hinge have come apart as well, and it's not obvious how to put it back together again. Is there a straightforward way to fix this?

Thanks...

Same thing happened to my '/'/'?' key on the 5100, and its getting annoying to press the rubber membrane directly

If you can, carefully remove the key cap to a key that is similar to the one you need to put back.  Look at the arrangement of the scissor hinge there.  Then, put the 2 pieces of the scissor hinge together in the same alignment.  Note that there are two very small holes on the sides of one of the pieces (in the middle of the piece), and two very small pins on the sides of the other piece (also in the middle).  The pins go in the holes.

Make sure you have the pieces arranged correctly "up" or "down" as well (there is a difference).

Good luck.
