Keyboard Malfunction and Error Code 2000-0142

Hello,

Alright so I woke up a couple days ago and the '\M' key on the keyboard quit working. I tried cleaning the keyboard but that did not fix the problem. I was looking for help online and ran across a couple people with the same problem. One dell tech said to try cleaning, then try running the diagnostic at start up to see if there is an error. If all else fails replace the key board. I tried the start up thing and got:

Error Code 2000-0142
Unit 0 self test failed by status byte 79

Is there a hard drive problem too? Or is the hard drive causing the keyboard to mess up? I have a inspiron e1705, it's about 3 years old and the warrenty expired 2 months ago.

Thanks,

Ron Glover
