Keyboard

I have been having issues with certain keys on my keyboard.

The period key has now become the function 10 key promoting the contextual menu to appear instead. The 3 key works as the backspace key. The 9 key and left shift key don't work at all.

I would appreciate any help to fix this issue.

Thank you

Hi LILYROSE82.

What is the exact system model?

Is there any damage / liquid spillage on the system? Does an external keyboard work fine? Are the keys stuck or are they mechanically functional?

If you want to reverse the function of the period key - check this link on how to remap the keys - http://bit.ly/2pir7eg

If the system is under warranty, we can book a service call and replace the parts.

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your Name for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.
