Keys are not mapped correctly

Hi,

I bought Inspiron 6400, I am facing problem with the Keyboard. The Keys are not mapped correctly for example if I am pressing backslash it prints "#" (Hash ) and none of the key is mapped to backslash because of this I am unable to do mapping (as i can't give path without it).

Similarly on pressing '@' key it display " and vice versa.

Same with some other keys as well. It will be highly appreciated if someone can help me.

Cheers

Check the Key Settings in Keyboard properties in Control Panel. Also check your Regional Language Settings to make sure it's set for the correct language and location. If this is a new computer from Dell, contact Support.

Hi Mary G,

Thanks a lot for your advice, it was regional language setting.

I changed the setting and it is working absolutely fine :smileyvery-happy:

Three cheers for You....

Hi,

I'm also having this problem on 2 laptops (Dell inspiron 1300 & Dell latitude CPx).  Can someone tell me how to change the regional language settings - I can't seem to find it:smileywink:.  It's Windows XP.

Thank you,
Mike
