Laptop Repairer Cheating !!!

Question

Hello , I had bought my Dell Inspiron N4010 2 years back on 18/8/2010. OS : WINDOWS 7 : HOME-BASIC Processor : i3 (2.4 ghz) Memory : 3gb HDD : 320 gb Graphic Card : ATI Radeon HD 5470 A day before yesterday my laptop was perfect ... no issues ..no problems. But yesterday when I swicthed it on I was shocked to see its degraded performance. (It was very very slow and a bit hot too) I contacted the dell support and they suggested to update the BIOS and clean the air vents. I did what they suggested, but found no change in performance. Instead when I switched it on , it used to shut down automatically after some time (say 10-18 minutes....may be it was due to overheating).. So I preferred to contact the nearby Laptop Repairing shop and explained them the whole problem. They took my laptop and told me the maximum expenditure. (They told me -- that they would backup my data, install new version of windows 7... and would do some pasting on processor that will resolve the problem of overheating... ). When I handed over my laptop to them , the windows was booting normally .. But today they called me that my MBR is corrupt and they have to repair/install the MBR that will charge me some more amount (i.e additional 650 Rs ). I doubt it ..because if MBR was corrupt then how was i able to boot my windows with no preoblem. Is he Cheating me??? Please help Dell. You are my last hope.

Problem resolved...

studied about MBR and raised some Qs against his technical knowledge.... He lost ...and is now making some excuses (like misunderstanding etc)... Cheap people !!!

by the way.. Thank you dell -- for i shared my feelings here and felt relaxed.
